Applying for a job
Whether you're looking for part-time work or a full-time career you'll need to make applications and prove you are the right person for the job. Remember you are out to impress!
You might have to do one or more of the following things:-
- Telephone or email for job details
- Send a letter of application
- Fill in an application form
- Send a CV with a covering letter
- Go for an interview
- Do a test
Create a great CV
Keep it brief – one side of A4 is ideal.
Ask at school, college or at your local Connexions Access Point to see examples as a guide.
Keep a copy on computer or a disk so that you can change it and print off further copies whenever you need to. Remember to tailor your CV to the job you are applying for. Use the spell checker and get someone to check it for typing errors.
